The shooter will bring another season in autumn and shows first pictures. But before that, they want to revive earlier events

Many fans had already feared that Battlefield 2042 would end after Season 5. But there will be at least one more season, which will start in October as announced. A developer video shows the first images of the new map and announces what will happen until its release.

Where to in Season 6?

Not many details are known about the contents of Season 6. Besides new features and content there is supposed to be a new map again, which we can already spy in the developer video:

While the tunnel shown first looks rather unspectacular, things get much more interesting in the second scene. Here we see a battle in a dark, overgrown forest or jungle. After Battlefield 2042’s previous maps were often set in industrial plants, shipwrecks or cities, there could now be some variety.

Giant event starts soon

But before Season 6 is released, a six-week event will launch on 29 August, as announced in the video above. Under the name of Battlefield 2042 Redux temporary game modes that were playable with the events of Season 2, 3 and 4 will return in a revised form. You will be able to play the following modes for one week at a time:

  • Rush Chaos XL: For up to 128 players. You have to destroy radio stations or defend them. In addition, there are modifiers such as increased movement and projectile speed.
  • Tactical Conquest: Infantry-heavy variant of Conquest with only three flags. Effective interaction in a squad is the key to victory here.
  • Storm Conquest: Attackers with more reinforcements must drive the defenders off the map here. The latter have only limited spawn possibilities.
  • Breakthrough Chaos: In this breakthrough variant 128 players compete. New entries, movements, throwing speeds and vehicle requirements are accelerated.
  • Shutdown: You attack or defend data warehouses. As the attacker, you place a device that slowly destroys the data warehouses. The longer you keep it in operation, the more points you get.

During the event, you can earn all-new rewards such as vehicle skins, weapon skins and specialist skins while playing all modes of All-Out Warfare . Additionally, former Store items will become earnable, and Double XP weekends will ensure faster progression.

What do you think of the first look at Season 6? Are you excited about the new map, or disappointed with the setting that has been hinted at? Are you looking forward to the return of the limited time event modes, or do you prefer to play the classics like Team Deathmatch or Conquest anyway? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
