The multiplayer shooter gets a major update with many bug fixes. Here you can find the most important changes and an overview of all patch notes.
Update from 20 April 2022: The big patch 4.0 may fix many bugs and make some much needed improvements to the multiplayer shooter, but apparently a serious problem is now suddenly celebrating a comeback.
During the loading process, it can happen that the image flickers extremely fast and in changing colours. This problem apparently already occurred in the beta phase, but had disappeared in the meantime.
What is already unpleasant for the eye can be life-threatening for people with epilepsy. That is why we have refrained from embedding a video of the display error here. If you would like to get an idea of the problem at your own risk, you can watch it here.

This is what’s in Update 4.0
The complete list of all the changes in the new update for Battlefield 2042 is almost as long as the road to the next sector, so we’ve picked out some highlights and notable changes for you.
* (VoIP): A feature that has been requested by many players since release is the possibility to communicate with other players via voice chat. With Update 4.0, VoIP has finally been introduced and you can now talk to members of your squad and party.
* (End of Round Scoreboard): The scoreboard introduced in update 3.3 can now be viewed at the end of the round. By the way, you can find all other changes of the previous update here:
Changes to vehicles:
(~) The crew of the M5C Bolte can now be taken under fire more easily, and its missile launcher is also weakened. The light tracked vehicle was often perceived as too strong.
(~) As a first step to the planned improvements of the maps, the number of vehicles on all maps in the different game modes has been slightly reduced.
(Changes to Specialists): All Specialists have received various bug fixes and adjustments, including some balance changes:
(~) Sundance: Anti-tank grenades have been reworked to be more effective against close targets, plus fragmentation grenades explode faster.
(~) Paik: The Threat Perception ability has been replaced with Eagle Eye: players hit by it will now be visible to everyone on the map.
(~) Rao: This Specialist now has the ability Threat Perception. If he is attacked, the attacker is shown to him on the map.
(Sprinkler on Kaleidoscope): The sprinklers in buildings are now active for less time and no longer cause damage. The freezing effect in the HUD has also been reduced. However, these changes do not seem to affect other maps such as Orbital.
Changes to weapons:
(Weapon attachments revised): The effects of scopes, grips, magazines and barrel modifications of many weapons were adjusted. The aim here was to provide noticeable and unique changes in weapon behaviour
(M44 Revolver fixed): A curious bug plagued the M44 revolver since launch: Only five rounds were reloaded instead of six. This bug has now been fixed
(~) Experience points adjusted: Finally, the experience points received for certain support actions have been adjusted. For example, you will now receive more XP for healing your teammates, repairing their vehicles and replenishing their ammunition. In return, however, the points received for conquering sectors have been reduced.
In addition to the presented changes, the developers promise many bug fixes and smaller changes for the new update. On page 2 of this article you will find the complete patch notes of Update 4.0.
