Battlefield Portal online

This is unexpected – DICE has already put the access to Battlefield Portal online. This means that you can already create your own modes and let off steam creatively.

Battlefield 2042 casts its shadow ahead and offers more than just the classic multiplayer modes. With Battlefield Portal, DICE wants to give fans of the series the opportunity to create their very own gaming experiences for the first time, drawing on many aspects of the numerous predecessors.

And it looks like players will be able to get their own hands on the Portal Mode editor unexpectedly early on. The (official website), where you can create your own modes with all sorts of modifiers, has quietly gone live already. Now anyone with an EA account can access it.

Why is the portal website already live?

Scene leaker Tom Henderson has been reporting about a capture event for Battlefield 2042 for a short time now. On Twitter he lists, among other things, what he claims to have learned about the new Hazard Zone mode. So it’s quite possible that EA has put the Portal website online especially for this capture event.

Also, the URL itself might give you a clue as to why you can already craft modes in Battlefield Portal. It is called review.portal.battlefield.com. The review seems to indicate a review event. This could already be the explanation: Probably the first players are already allowed to try out Portal and the editor, which is why the website has gone live.

The fact that EA simply connects the Portal editor publicly to the net without further security precautions, such as a VPN or password protection, also shows that they probably accept leaks here. After all, many fans will be happy to be able to play around with the portal editor even before its release.
