Battlefield 2042 will soon enter its sixth season. Now the developers show all the new content and changes in detail.

On 10 October 2023, Battlefield 2042 will enter its sixth season. If it will be the last one or if there will be more new content is unknown so far. But now there are all the details about the new content as well as the gameplay trailer, which shows the most important innovations in action. We summarise the most important things for you!

New content with Season 6

As usual, the new season brings another map as well as new weapons and equipment into the game. Battlefield also gets a new, but rather small vehicle. You can already see most of the new content in the gameplay trailer:

  • New map: Season 6 takes you to a secret research facility in Scotland, consisting of underground rooms and a dome overgrown with plants. The new map relies on role models such as Operation Metro and Locker and completely dispenses with vehicles. In addition, some secrets are said to be hiding here.
  • New weapons and gadgets: There will be a total of three new weapons with Season 6. They are a pistol, an assault rifle and a semi-automatic precision rifle. There will also be new gadgets again, such as handy ammo and health packs.

  • New vehicle: The YUV-2 Pondhawk can transport a maximum of two people, but gets them to their destination especially quickly. The hovering transporter is not armed, however, and you are not well protected with the new vehicle either.
  • New Battlepass: Of course, all new content can once again be unlocked via the free Battlepass. There you will also find new weapon and soldier skins. Those who pay extra for the premium version will get even more cosmetic items.

Comfort and balancing changes

For the release of Season 6, Update 6.0 also brings some gameplay changes that affect comfort and balancing. The following is planned:

  • New ability for Recon: If you play a Specialist of this class, you will not only gain advantages when using sniper rifles. You can also reach for your secondary weapon faster or put it away. This works with all types of primary weapons.
  • Adjustments for recoil: With high rate of fire weapons, the deviation due to recoil is sometimes greater than seen through the aiming device. This circumstance shall be corrected.
  • Aim Assist for console players: With a controller, you should be able to aim better than before, and there will also be new setting options.
  • Vehicle controls: All vehicles should now behave more realistically when you fly through the air. In addition, the control of tanks and aircraft has been improved.
  • Adjustments for Rao: The Specialist”s hacking tool gets a rework. It no longer prevents hacked vehicles from firing their weapons, but damages them instead. Killing a hacked soldier will also reveal their nearby allies.

What do you think of Season 6 so far? Do you like the new map in the spirit of Operation Locker and Operation Metro? Or would you have preferred a huge battlefield with tanks, helicopters and more? Are you looking forward to the new weapons and gadgets, or were you hoping for something else? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
