We know more about the new Battlefield than EA had intended. The question is whether the information will really make fans happy!
When the playtest registration for Battlefield Labs opened, the rush was gigantic. So it’s hardly surprising that tons of gameplay from the new Battlefield was leaked online during the first test run – despite strict conditions imposed by EA.
Since then, every little clip has been dissected by the community and checked for new information. We have also dared to do an extensive detailed analysis of BF7.
Now, of course, the question arises: are the leaks cause for hope or does skepticism prevail?
Your opinion on the new Battlefield?
We want to hear your opinion: Are you optimistic after the leaks that the Battlefield series will finally turn the corner and return to its old strengths, or are you convinced that it can’t be done?
Mood like in the old days, but still a lot unclear
The leaked gameplay scenes remind many fans of a kind of new edition of BF3 and BF4 – the two most popular parts of the series in our survey too.
In terms of atmosphere, the new game seems to be returning to a serious and dirty war tonality, especially in comparison to BF2042.
The brutal sound and level destruction, for example, suggest this is the case. But it’s also clear that Battlefield has a lot of making up to do with fans after the last installments in the series failed to meet expectations in many ways.
The new Battlefield does not yet have a name and is in an early pre-alpha stage. Therefore, many elements from the leaks may still change during development.
The release is targeted for the fourth quarter of 2025 or (in the event of a delay) no later than spring 2026.
