At an EA investor conference, the next Battlefield was also discussed. A huge team is apparently working on the shooter

EA is under huge pressure for the next Battlefield: After the disappointing Battlefield 2042  for many fans, the next title in the series must win back lost trust. Another botched release would probably completely alienate many players from the brand.

At least to his own investors, EA boss Andrew Wilson is now promising big things after apparently already being able to play the new shooter himself.

Violent live service

As reported by Insider Gaming and others, Wilson has spoken out about Battlefield 7 in the investor call. According to him,the biggest team in the history of the franchise is working on the new shooter.

It was recently announced that a studio founded for the story of the next Battlefield in 2022 has been closed. However, EA announced some time later that the developers of the Dead Space remake, EA Motive, are now also working on the next title in the series.

As Wilson explains in the investor call, he was able to visit the developers a few weeks ago and see the new Battlefield for himself:

I’ve spent a lot of time with the whole Battlefield team, playing what they’re building. It’s going to be another massive live service.

The word Live-Service may go down well with investors, but many players will probably cringe at first. After all, Battlefield 2042 already wanted to rely on such a model. However, before the first season with new content could be released, the shooter had to be repaired for months after its disastrous release. And even after that, many players were rather dissatisfied with the new features on offer.

However, Wilson’s statement also indicates that Battlefield 7 is already partially playable. The development could therefore already be relatively advanced. However, it is still unclear when we can expect the first trailer

While the development of Battlefield 7 is in full swing, Battlefield 2042 will no longer receive any new content. As you can read in more detail in the news above, the developers want to focus on the next game. Our shooter expert Kevin explains what the successor absolutely has to deliver.
