There are new details about the upcoming Battlefield: Among other things, a NATO campaign is to be played and an exciting destruction system is to be introduced.

Electronic Arts recently indicated for the first time that they are currently working intensively on the ;next big Battlefield game is currently being worked on – and already there is a first batch of more detailed details.

The reliable insider Tom Henderson has released further details about single and multiplayer modes, the overhaul of the destruction mechanics and much more. We’ll summarize the most important news for you.

What the leak about Battlefield 7 reveals

Story campaign and setting

Battlefield 7 is set to take place in the near future between 2027 and 2030 and thus focuses on a modern military setting

According to Henderson, there will be a real story campaign again: The plot of the single-player mode revolves around the conflict between a huge private military organization and NATO. Various locations around the world, including Gibraltar and the United States, are planned as settings.

Weapons, maps & destruction

In multiplayer mode, Battlefield 7 is supposed to offer 45 weapons at release release.– that’s twice as many as in the predecessor, Battlefield 2042. Ten maps should also be playable from the start.

A particular focus is on the revised destruction technology: with the “caliber-based destruction” system, each weapon causes different degrees of damage depending on its caliber. In the future, it could be possible to destroy parts of the environment with large-caliber machine guns, instead of just rocket launchers and other explosive weapons.

Also exciting: A new mechanic will allow you to pull wounded comrades out of the line of fire and then resuscitate them in safety.

Free Battle Royale

Alongside the classic multiplayer with modes such as Conquest, Rush and Co., the game will also feature a Battle Royale set in a tropical region of the USA. According to Henderson, this mode will be available as a Free2Play add-on – a strategy that is strongly reminiscent of Call of Duty: Warzone.

Incidentally, the official title of the game has not yet been finalized. According to Henderson, surveys have already been conducted in which the players surveyed were able to choose between different names. It remains to be seen whether the next installment in the series will be called Battlefield 6, Battlefield 7, simply Battlefield, or something completely different.
