Pre-orders for Modern Warfare 2 are already underway and it is these that are said to reveal details of the open beta. Amazon has added a note to the game saying that all gamers who pre-order Modern Warfare 2 by 15 August will receive an Early Access code for the Open Beta. Tom Henderson also noticed the note and therefore assumes a test phase around 15 August.
The codes will allegedly be sent out on 15 August, which means that the Open Beta could start a few days later. In addition, all players, regardless of platform, will receive a code. Therefore, the Open Beta could be on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. However, the beta is to start on Sony’s console first, as has been the case with other Call of Duty games.
