Insider Tom Henderson gives first glimpse of Call of Duty: Warzone 2’s map, saying it will be bigger than Caldera.
Known leaker Tom Henderson has a first glimpse of the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 map for gamers. In cooperation with Try Hard Guides, the first sketch of the map was created.
Update from 30 May.
A coloured version of the new Warzone 2 map was leaked last weekend and now shows the map with all its locations for the first time. In addition to railway tracks, the map also contains a relatively large amount of water, which will not limit us spatially in Warzone 2 in the future, because we will be able to swim.
At least five locations from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) will celebrate their comeback on the new map. The design of the entire map will be based on South America. The Mountain Town POI, for example, is to be modelled on the typical corrugated iron settlements (favelas) in many South American cities.
- Highrise will appear as “Modern City” on the Warzone 2 map and is said to be reminiscent of Downtown from Verdansk.
- Quarry will keep its name.
- Terminal, will appear as the POI “Airport” in Warzone 2 and is home to one of three large strongholds where we can fight for our loadout.
- Afghan will be renamed “Caves” and shall be located in the middle of the Battle Royale map.
- Mountain Town will be based on Favela from Modern Warfare 2 (2009).
Original news of 25 May
It was only on Tuesday that the release date of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was officially announced, which also gave rise to quite a few more rumours surrounding the game. However, the rumour mill around the successor to Warzone also seems to be bubbling. Tom Henderson apparently got hold of the complete map of the new Battle Royale.
The lower half of the map is covered with water. There is a harbour, shipwreck, fortress and an airport. There is also a cemetery and a fishing village nearby. Two rivers are also said to run through the entire map of Warzone 2.
Here’s what the new Warzone 2 map looks like, including where all the POIs are located! 🙂

According to Tom Henderson, he did not draw all the streets on the map to keep the map clearer. The insider only wanted to focus on the main features. The grey areas are densely built-up areas and the dark brown places are elevations. There is also supposed to be a rail system on the map of Warzone 2, which was drawn in as a black line in the leak.
