As Season 5 draws ever closer, we take a first look at the Among Us-inspired game mode, Double Agent.

The Double Agent mode will be released in the upcoming fifth season of Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War and features mafia-style gameplay very reminiscent of the popular online multiplayer game Among Us. Ten players compete against each other, with each player being assigned a specific role to fulfil. The designated double agents try to kill everyone.

The game mode itself is actually quite simple in design. You start a round with nine other players and are assigned one of three roles: Agents, Investigators or Double Agents who sabotage the mission.

The double agents have to eliminate all other players or successfully place explosive charges on the map.

The investigator tries to follow up the clues and out suspected double agents as “wanted criminals”.

The agents must work together to identify and eliminate the dangerous double agents before all teammates are dead.

Improve your equipment as the game progresses

All players on the map start the game mode with only a pistol, which can be upgraded to better equipment as the game progresses. In the process, each role receives special abilities and weapons. Double agents, for example, gain access to special aircraft and gas mines. Investigators, on the other hand, can use trophy systems and hand cannons, among other things, as well as see the attacker’s footprints when they investigate the location of a body.

You can also play Double Agent in custom lobbies so you can gather your friends and play together.
