It has been known for quite some time that the Battle Royale mode of Call of Duty “Warzone” will also be available in the latest offshoot Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Now there are more details about the starting event.
Call of Duty: Warzone is still the most played Battle Royale on the market. No wonder Activision wants to transfer this hype to the newest part of the CoD saga. So Warzone will continue to exist as a free BR mode and adapt to the main games.
In order to get the transition from Modern Warfare to Black Ops Cold War, which is thematically set in another era, the publishers from Activision have considered a starting event, at least according to rumors.
Atomic bomb on Verdansk?
According to the Leaker “TheGamingRevolution” an atomic bomb is supposed to devastate the map of Verdansk and shoot the world back into the cold war. The Leaker had already revealed a lot of information in the past, which was later confirmed.
Also a name for this event should already be fixed: “Rebirth” it should be called. But the map should not just be bombed, but redesigned.

TheGamingRevolution read among other things a soviet version of Alcatraz. Alcatraz is an old map, which was already used in the first Battle Royale of CoD.

Call of Duty is not the only game that lets you change its maps through events and thus creates new content. Other Battle Royales such as Fortnite or Apex Legends also follow this pattern. A pattern that was of course big long before Battle Royale games. For example, this was a huge reason for the success of World of Warcraft.
