As a well-known CoD leaker has claimed on Twitter, Sledgehammer Games is said to be developing the next Call of Duty.
Modern Warfare II hasn”t even been released yet and already rumours about its successor are doing the rounds. On Twitter, a CoD leaker has now claimed that he knows who is responsible for the future of the popular first-person shooter. Some people are probably getting beads of sweat on their foreheads after his announcement.
Is Advanced Warfare 2 coming?
According to the well-known Call of Duty leaker RalphsValve, the development of the next Call of Duty is already in the starting blocks. The new title is said to be Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare 2, which is to be developed by Sledgehammer Games, a controversial studio in the CoD community.

The game, like Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0, is said to be developed in Infinity Ward Engine 9, which is an improved version of the original Modern Warfare (2019) engine.
According to the report by (RalphsValve), while the original plan was to continue on the path of Call of Duty: Vanguard and its innovations, the decision was made to breathe new life into the old Advanced Warfare series due to abysmal reviews, poor sales and an enraged community.
Will this work?
Even though Sledgehammer Games developed one of the best-selling CoD games of all time with Modern Warfare 3 in 2011, Vanguard, released in 2021, disappointed large parts of the community across the board. Especially the massive changes to the previous Call of Duty titles bitterly offended many.
However, the developers have already proven with 2014”s Advanced Warfare that they are capable of producing a solid Call of Duty game. Maybe the World War II setting just isn”t their thing and they should rather focus on space and laser weapons instead of Japanese Pacific islands and STG44.
Even though the release is planned for 2025 at the earliest, however, the question already arises as to what will happen with Warzone 2.0 after its release. The attempt to integrate new CoD games into Warzone has already led to catastrophic bugs with BOCW and Vanguard. So it remains to be seen whether Activision will make the same mistake twice or have learned from the past.
