From today, adventurers on PlayStation and Xbox can immerse themselves in the icy realms of Black Desert as the Mountain of Eternal Winter opens its gates. Pearl Abyss, the Korean developer and publisher, has released the long-awaited expansion for console players. This new region brings a variety of exciting content and challenges that will delight both new and experienced players.
The Mountain of Eternal Winter takes players into a constantly snow-covered landscape. It features new questlines, fully voiced cutscenes, a fresh player hub and a powerful new boss. Fans of Black Desert can explore a completely new world. They will go in search of the Holy Flame Ynix and experience the final showdown with the witch Illezra .
What the eternal snow holds in store in Black Desert
In this Black Desert expansion, players are tasked with climbing to the summit of the Mountain of Eternal Winter. On their journey, they will encounter ancient rituals and challenges left behind by the mountain’s ancient protectors. They help the inhabitants of Eilton to rediscover forgotten knowledge and meet unique characters. These include Lando, the talkative snow fox, and Jordine Ducas, a fearsome adversary.
The Mountain of Eternal Winter offers a new starting zone for players who have not yet explored much of Black Desert. This leveling experience is ideal for newcomers who want to dive deep into the game’s story and world. Adventurers on console can look forward to a variety of new content:
- New region:The snowy region of the Mountain of Eternal Winter, where players will search for the Sacred Flame Ynix, defeat Illezra and help Eilton’s people discover ancient knowledge.
- New questline:An extensive questline with fully rendered, voice acted cutscenes and lore stories.
- New player hub:Eilton, nestled in the rugged mountainsides south of Drieghan, serves as the central hub of the expansion.
- New Boss:Erebjörk, armed with a massive ice axe and shield, stands in the way of players and can summon Blizzards. His victory rewards the players with the Flame of Frost, which is used to craft the powerful Labreskas Helmet.
- New Endgame Locations: Players will battle polar bears and snow leopards in the Jade Starlight Forest to awaken Erebjörk’s wrath, and invade the Sherekhans Iron Mine to clear the Queen Vercedes’ infestation.
Special events and rewards
To celebrate the new expansion of Black Desert, Pearl Abyss has announced a series of in-game events. The Fluffy Alpaca, an exclusive mount for Shai characters, will be available to players who complete a short quest. Additionally, there will be a 500% Hot Time event on all servers starting today to combat the summer heat. Players can also look forward to a special event challenge where they can earn up to 200 stacks of Council of Valks.
