Call of Duty is hungry as hell for memory. Modern Warfare even earned the title of biggest PC game (without mods) in 2020 because of it. In the meantime, the monster updates beyond 50 GB are fortunately a thing of the past, the developers have significantly reduced the download sizes in the new seasons.
Nevertheless, you still have to allow Warzone, Cold War and Modern Warfare a lot of space. We’ll tell you exactly how much in our overview. There you will also find tips on how you can compress the storage space yourself. Please note: The exact figures may vary slightly.
How big is Call of Duty: Warzone?
If you only download the free standalone version on PC of CoD Warzone at Battle.net, the current sizes are as follows:
– Download: 92.4 GB
– Hard disk space: 91 GB
With each new season, there are at least two more downloads: once at launch and once the midseason update. These usually don’t change the amount of space Warzone takes up on your hard drive.
How big is Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War?
In Cold War you have a few options to reduce the memory requirements. To do this, select “Customise installation” on Battle.net and tick the individual game packages.
If you want to reduce the size of the game, it is best to leave out the high-resolution textures. They alone make up a difference of 63 GB!

How big is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare?
Modern Warfare and Warzone are related, which means that you will automatically install the free Battle Royale as well.
To reduce the size of Modern Warfare, you can remove individual data packages on Battle.net that are no longer needed, such as Campaign, Multiplayer, Special Ops and Survival. To do this, select the “Customise installation” tab under “Options”.
