Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is already in the starting blocks and according to the latest leaks, old familiar maps are to appear in the shooter.
The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is in the starting blocks and will be released on 28 October. While there have already been some details about the upcoming shooter, leaker “TheGhostOfHope” seems to have gotten his hands on some more clues. Old familiar maps from the predecessor are to return in the new title.
Modern Warfare 2 from 2009 is probably one of the best Call of Duty titles ever for many players. The maps from back then also seem to have left a lasting impression. Infinity Ward is planning to implement them in the upcoming Modern Warfare 2, if the leaker’s rumours prove true.
The players could then expect several maps from the old Modern Warfare 2. According to the leaker, either all or almost all maps from the shooter will be added to the new game. This means that CoD fans can expect Rust, Quarry and Skidrow as well as Invasion in addition to Highrise and Terminal.
Interesting piece of info I heard from a trustworthy source recently….
Infinity Ward are planning to release all/almost all Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps together all at once some time during the post launch of Modern Warfare II (2022). Very likely this could be Year 2 content. pic.twitter.com/7ZdVTftcug

In Modern Warfare 2 from 2009, there were a total of 14 maps without the DLCs. According to the leaker, the majority of the maps could be added some time after the release of the upcoming shooter to fill the game with content for two years. After all, Activision has decided to release a new Call of Duty game only every two years after Modern Warfare 2.
