The speculation was already mounting, now it’s official: CoD 2023 will be called Modern Warfare 3.

Finally it’s official: after many speculations and leaks, we know that Call of Duty 2023 will indeed be called Modern Warfare 3. The developers tease the new shooter with a short trailer and reveal the release date in the process. November 10, 2023 is already here!

What do we already know about Modern Warfare 3?

That a new Call of Duty will also be released in 2023 was already as certain as the “Amen” in the church. That it will be Modern Warfare 3 could already be concluded from numerous insider reports and leaks – so the official announcement shouldn’t really surprise anyone anymore.

CoD 2023 will be a direct successor to Modern Warfare 2 from last year. Thus, the story will presumably tie in directly and revolve around the villain Makarov, whose face can also be seen briefly in the teaser.

For the first time in the series, unlocked weapons and operators will be carried over into the new game.

According to rumors, MW3 will also bring back the classic minimap of old CoD parts. Perks will also be linked to a new gear system. Leaked screenshots also reveal the return of two familiar maps: Terminal and Scrapyard.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is primarily developed by Sledgehammer (CoD WW2, CoD Vanguard).

What do you think of the announcement? Are you looking forward to MW3 – and what are your hopes for the sequel? Or are you rather skeptical about the newest part of the series? Feel free to tell us in the comments!
