Modern Warfare 3 is finally here, but what happens to my weapons, skins and operators from Modern Warfare 2?

Modern Warfare 3 is here and brings with it a bunch of new weapons, skins and operators. But what happens to my hard-earned inventory from Modern Warfare 2?

This is carried over

Unlike when switching from Warzone 1 to Warzone 2, all content from Modern Warfare 2 is carried over in Modern Warfare 3. Even weapons and their attachments are transferred to Modern Warfare 3. If you play weapons in MW2 and level them up, this progress will also be carried over to MW3

  • Weapons
  • Operators including skins
  • Blueprints
  • weapon camouflages
  • weapon tags
  • Stickers
  • Emblems
  • Charging screens
  • XP tokens
  • Certain Vehicle Skins and Wartracks
  • Weapon progress
  • Attachments
  • Pre-Order-Bonuses
  • Twitch rewards
  • Beta Rewards
  • COD points
  • Progress in Season 6 Battle Pass

  • Calling Cards
  • Gun Screens

This carry forward principle is intended to ensure that no player suffers a loss by purchasing Modern Warfare 3 and can take their hard-earned inventory with them.

The sometimes tedious weapon camo grind in Modern Warfare 2 was not in vain and you can get started with your favorite skins right at the start of MW3.
