What”s the deal with the new and mysterious Warzone building in the DMZ? We”ll tell you what information there is about it so far.

Along with the Season 1 Reloaded update, the developers of Warzone 2.0 have announced a new and mysterious building in the DMZ. We took a closer look at it and tell you what building 21 is all about.

Update from 4 January

After Building 21 was removed from the DMZ after just 24 hours due to a bug that allowed used access cards to be used more than once, it seems we can look forward to a comeback soon. As developer Infinity Ward announced via Twitter, the new play area is to be relaunched as early as Friday, 6 January.

The game area, which is separated from Al Mazrah, is guarded by particularly strong AI opponents and, apart from the best loot in the DMZ, also provides you with unique rewards that can only be found there.

In a second tweet, Infinity Ward confirmed that Building 21 will again only be available for a limited time How long exactly we can enter the area is still unclear. You should therefore hurry and collect enough access cards for the new area by Friday.

You can read more about how to get them below.

Our window of opportunity to strike is limited - if missed, operators will have to wait for future missions. Happy Hunting.

If you''re after the six unique rewards that await you in the new game area, you should also read through our guide to be best prepared.

  • 2. reward - "Weapon Rover" Calling Card
  • 3. reward - "Roar" Weapon Sticker

  • 5. reward - "Camo Cloud" vehicle skin for the heavy helicopter
  • 6. reward - "Silver Tox" weapon blueprint for the Chimera assault rifle

Update of 21 December

This was a short-lived pleasure. Just 24 hours after Building 21 was released for DMZ mode, the special play area has also been taken offline.

According to developer Infinity Ward, however, access to the new game area should be reopened later this week.

The reason for the short-term deactivation of building 21 could be a bug that allowed players to enter the building as often as they wanted with only one access card.

As many players have already suspected, the rare access cards can be recovered from downed aircraft. Alternatively, you can find them in the orange loot boxes scattered throughout Al-Mazrah.

Before going into building 21, make sure you have special cards that can open locked areas in the building, in addition to the regular access card.

You can also find these in the rare orange lootboxes or in downed aircraft. As soon as Building 21 is available again, we will of course continue to provide you with guides and information on the new game area.

Best Loot & Strongest Enemies

In addition to the comeback of the map classic Shipment, the Chimera Assault Rifle and the new limited time game mode Warzone Cup, there were also new additions to Al Mazrah, or DMZ mode.

In the blog entry for the Season 1 Reloaded update, the developers announced the arrival of a new and mysterious game area.

The so-called Building 21 is a secret bio-lab run by unknown backers. The area promises particularly high-level loot and rare contraband, which is, however, also defended by the deadliest enemies the DMZ has seen so far.

The best loot is found in the building''s special areas and safes, which require special key cards to access.

Where is building 21?

Those who have already searched up and down the DMZ for the new area after the Season 1 Reloaded update will be disappointed. The new game area has not yet been published and therefore cannot be found at the moment.

As the developers informed us, the release of the building will not be officially announced, but simply implemented in the DMZ. Theoretically, this could be any day now.

So far, developer Infinity Ward is still keeping the new gameplay area a big secret and has revealed few details. It would be up to the players to find out where and when the building will appear. However, they already revealed that building 21 is not in Al Mazrah.

So it''s entirely possible that we''ll have to use some kind of travel system or jump off the map to get to the building.

Collect Keycards

At this point, enemies are already dropping special keycards that can open special areas and safes in Building 21. So if you want to be prepared for the release, you should start collecting the rare keycards today.

On Twitter, several players reported finding keycards in downed helicopters, while others collected them in regular supply drops. However, it can be assumed that there are other methods to get the cards that have not yet been discovered.

There''s also a lively discussion on Twitter about the actual way into the building. CoD leaker TheGhostOfHope suspects that players will be taken there by means of an order. Others, however, believe that the building will be reached by a transport system.

As soon as there is more information about the location of the mysterious building 21, we will inform you.
