As announced in the Season 2 patch notes on 15 February, the new public event Data Heist should appear on Ashika Island at some point during the new season. We explain what the event is all about and why human enemies are not your most dangerous enemies.
Here we go
As Raven Software announced on Twitter on the evening of 28 February, the new public event Data Heist is finally starting. Until now, it was only clear that the event would start sometime during Season 2, but not when exactly.
💻 The Data Heist Public Event is now live on Ashika Island!
Find and steal laptops with enemy intel to earn valuable loot. Keep in mind, others may try to intercept you on your mission.
Keep your 👀 peeled for any new secrets as well.
Good luck! 🫡Warzone2 pic.twitter.com/TC9grNnonV

The event will take place exclusively on Ashika Island and cannot currently be played on Al Mazrah. Data Heist is accordingly limited to the forty participants of a Resurgence match, which should be more of a blessing than a curse given the game mechanics of the event.
Unlike the current Ronin event, however, during Data Heist you will only receive rewards that will help you within a match. It is more of a new contract/order than a full event with rewards such as new weapons, skins or other cosmetic items
What it’s about
During the collapse of the second circle, three uplink stations appear on the map that need to be conquered. Once you arrive at one station, a laptop awaits you at which you must start a download.
During the download process, waves of AI enemies will attack you, including the new “Rusher”, ready to take you out in close combat with his short swords.
If you have managed to successfully defend your download, as with most other missions in Warzone 2, a fat reward awaits you after successful completion.
In addition to a pile of cash and experience points, depending on how many stations you have visited, you can also look forward to rare series of kills and pieces of equipment.
If you even manage to raid all three stations and steal the sensitive data, you will receive an improved drone that even displays enemies with ghosts on the map.
