With the mid-season update on 27 July, a time-limited mode will also be released in Warzone. We tell you what it’s all about.
On 27 July, the Warzone Season 4 Reloaded update will be released and with it a new Battle Royale mode. As if a cybernetic killing machine in Titanium Trials wasn’t enough, zombies are now out to get us on Rebirth Island.
Nothing new for old hands
For those who have been playing Call of Duty for a while, zombies shouldn’t be too much of a novelty. The undead have become an integral part of CoD games and even manage to make Warzone’s Battle Royale unsafe every now and then. Shortly after the release of Warzone 2020, the soulless revenants shuffled through Verdansk and transformed Warzone into an atmospheric horror game. From 27 July, we’ll have to make sure that the dead stay dead again.

Help from the grave
Instead of the big Battle Royale map Verdansk, the Zombie Royale mode will take place on Rebirth Island this time. Up to 40 players in ten squads fight for survival on the small map. The rules do not differ from those of a normal Battle Royale round. However, if someone from your squad dies, they should not leave the match in a rage. Those who die prematurely come back as undead and can terrorise your opponents with the help of special abilities.
As a zombie, you have superhuman strength and speed, which makes you an omnipresent danger to your opponents in the narrow alleys and corridors of Rebirth Island. This way you can help your team to victory from the grave and don’t have to watch impassively for minutes on end.
If you don’t like being without a pulse and a soul, you can collect the antiviral injections scattered around the map to walk among the living again.
