Content: What kind of content will Season 2 bring?
New weapons
It should come as no surprise to anyone that Season 2 for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will also bring new weapons. According to Dataminer (CODSploitz) and Content Creator (Mavriq) it should be a new shotgun called Vepr-12
and the crossbow known from the single player campaign.

Saw new unfinished compensators on shotties in private matches. @Elgoomtaf do you know how these are unlocked?
Makes me think we”re going to get a new shotgun 🤔 pic.twitter.com/mQqnHxXSC5

Hints of this have been spotted before in the code of the current Call of Duty games, only recently have the hints become more solid. But be aware: That the shotgun and crossbow will actually hit in the course of Season 2 is not guaranteed! The weapons could also be available later in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.
New Map
By all appearances, the official artwork for Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 was leaked in December 2022. This showed the castle map known from World at War, which caused some astonishment in the community. Fans speculated that this could be the new Resurgence map for the Battle Royale.
I think castle is on the resurgence map and it”s gonna be used as a ground war map instead of 6v6 🤔 pic.twitter.com/Pi9QYA2NvM

In case you don”t remember: Castle is a medium sized multiplayer map depicting a Japanese castle with surrounding gardens and buildings. Established Insider Tom Henderson (via Insider-Gaming) also wants it to be known that Castle will make up at least part of a new Resurgence map that could indeed appear in Season 2.
Similar to Al Mazrah Castle is said to be part of a larger Resurgence map for up to 50 players, which will also be playable in the game modes Ground War and DMZ. An official confirmation is of course still pending.
who got it?

New Operator
Along with the Season 2 artwork and map leak came the unconfirmed info that Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will see the return of the operator Ronin. Ronin was already playable in the previous MW from 2019 and the first Warzone. The operator is based on real-life person and Special Forces veteran Tu Lam.
What else is happening on Call of Duty right now
With Season 1 Reloaded, the latest content update for Modern Warfare 2 and Warfare 2 was released just a few weeks ago, bringing not only new content but also a range of important improvements. For example, the hard-hitting Shipment map and the at least equally sporty Raids. However, one small detail change made us particularly happy.
