You are an absolute Call of Duty fan and can hardly wait for the release of Modern Warfare 2 this year? Then you will surely want to play the first-person shooter more than a week before its release!
This is not just a promise, it’s real! Thanks to Early Access, you can start shooting earlier than everyone else this year. In this article, we’ll give you an overview of what you need to do to get it and what you’ll actually get out of Early Access – because not every type of player will be served here.
Release: When does Early Access start?
- With access to the Early Access of MW2 you can start playing from October 20 at 7 pm
- The Early Access version is not limited in time, so you have no limit.
- Early Access is available on all platforms, so PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
Without Early Access you have to wait until the real release on 28 October. Then multiplayer and SpecOps co-op will also be active. Warzone 2 will even be released on November 16, 2022.
Preload: When will the download start?
Call of Duty in particular is notorious for its massive amounts of data – so it doesn’t hurt to start the download a little earlier! Infinity Ward has not yet officially communicated a preload date, but Sony has already announced the first dates for PlayStation

- The standard version includes the whole game and gives you a few instant unlocks for Warzone and CoD: Vanguard. This version costs 70 euros.
Alternatively, you can pre-order the Vault Edition. In addition to the main game, this deluxe package also includes 4 operators, numerous attachments for the M4 rifles, as well as the first Battle Pass with 50 unlocked levels. All this costs a total of 100 euros.
