Dataminers have dug through the code of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and discovered: There’s actually a face under Ghost’s mask.
Ghost from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is almost never seen without a mask, even though there is surprisingly little straw lying around in the game itself. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, Simon Riley is one of the absolute fan favourites of the Task Force 141 operator, no doubt thanks in part to his mysterious skull look.
If you’ve ever wonderedwhat Ghost looks like without a mask, there’s now the answer: data miners have been digging through Modern Warfare 2’s code and discovered that the Brit with a no-bullshit attitude actually has a sculpted face.
But from this point on, be warned of a potential spoiler! Because one or two players of Modern Warfare 2 assume that Call of Duty is saving the correct
Face Reveal of Ghost for a later date. For example, in a new update, sequel or story DLC due out in 2023.

Still here? Don’t say later we didn’t warn you! Unsurprisingly, Ghost looks like his motion-capture actor Samuel Rodkin under his mask. Rodkin thus not only lends his voice and expressive eyes to the Task Force 141 member, but also his (unseen) appearance.

That’s why Samuel Rodkin is Ghost: By the way, colleague Steffi had the opportunity to put the developers of Modern Warfare 2 through the wringer just a few weeks ago. Narrative leads Bryan Bloom and Jeff Negus told her that Samuel Rodkin was cast for the role of Ghost via video call.
Bloom and Negus were particularly taken with Rodkin’s expressive eyes, which ultimately convinced them of the actor. After all, the campaigns of the new Modern Warfare games are particularly character-focused, which is why it was especially important for Ghost to be able to convey enough emotion despite his mask.
The decision has certainly paid off: On social networks such as TikTok, for example, a small cult has sprung up around Simon Riley, while according to numerous players, the witty dialogues between Ghost and Soap were among the absolute highlights of the single-player campaign.
