Slowly but surely the hype train around the new (Call of Duty) is gaining momentum. The release is not far off and again and again the developers fuel the anticipation within the community with new info and revelations about Modern Warfare 3
Just in time for the opening of gamescom, publisher Activision has now announced that Modern Warfare 3 will undergo an open beta test before its release on 10 November.

When will the beta start?
The beta is scheduled to launch after the upcoming CoD Next a Call of Duty showcase that will take place virtually on October 5. The event is expected to focus on MW3, (Warzone) and (CoD Mobile)
However, the beta will not start at the same time for all CoD fans. There is – as every year – a complicated schedule with a total of four phases:
- 6 to 7 October: Exclusive pre-order access on PlayStation.
- 8. to 10. October: Open Beta exclusively on PlayStation without pre-ordering
- 12 to 13 October: Pre-order access for PC and Xbox (pre-order), Open Beta on PlayStation.
- 14th to 16th October: Open Beta for all (PC, Xbox and PlayStation) without pre-order
The individual phases will begin and end at 7:00 p.m. German time respectively.
How can I participate?
In principle, the Modern Warfare beta is open to all CoD fans. However, if you have a beta code, you can start a little earlier. The easiest way to get such a key is to pre-order (Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3). Pre-orderers will get the code automatically. However, those who still want to hold on to their money will also be able to play the beta.
Chance to win free beta keys
At the World Series of Warzone Finals, a total of 50,000 beta keys will be raffled off among the viewers
So if you are following the e-sports event (via Twitch), with a bit of luck you will get an advance access without having to pre-order! Here are the details:
- When will the Warzone World Finals run? On September 16, here (the exact schedule).
- How long do I have to watch? For every 60 minutes in the stream you get one entry into the draw
- How do I increase my chances? You can enter up to three times, so it’s best to watch for 3 hours.
To be eligible to win a beta code at the finale, you must create a (Activision account) and link it to the platform you play or plan to play CoD on (Battlenet, Steam, Xbox or PSN account).
After that, link the Twitch account you use to watch the final with your Activision account. Done! Now you can participate.
What else was new?
