Call of Duty: Modern Warfare isn’t finished yet. Developer Infinity Ward released the CX-9 weapon and Operator Soap as new content.
Although this year’s next Call of Duty is already upon us, 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare isn’t settling down just yet. After the recent release of new maps for the multiplayer mode, Infinity Ward is now following up with two new pieces of content.
The first is the CX-9, a new weapon, and the second is Soap, a long-awaited operator. In the next section we will tell you how to unlock these two items.
How to unlock the CX-9
The SMG CX-9 was spotted in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare some time ago, although the weapon was not officially in the game until now. With a fresh update, this has now changed and anyone can obtain the weapon. There are two ways to do this.
Complete the Weapon Challenge: Achieve two longshot skills with any SMG in five different matches in Modern Warfare or Warzone. After that, the CX-9 is automatically unlocked and can be used by you.

Buy Blueprint: Alternatively, you can purchase the Soap Operator Bundle in the store for 2,400 COD points (equivalent to approximately 20 euros). In addition to the operator, the bundle also contains the blueprint for the Serac CX-9.
No matter which way you choose, you will be able to use the CX-9 in Modern Warfare as well as in Warzone (if part of your loadout).
How to unlock Soap as an Operator
Soap MacTavish has also been long awaited by the community as an Operator in his own right. After all, the protagonist of the first Modern Warfare game is a fan favourite alongside Captain Price. However, Soap cannot be unlocked purely through play.
Instead, the operator is only available in the Soap Operator Bundle, which costs 2,400 COD points. The bundle contains the following items in total:
– Highlands Skin for Soap
– SOAP Mission
– Serac CX-9 Blueprint
– Suilven Handgun Blueprint
– Alpenstock Melee Blueprint
– “To The Top” Weapon Charm
– Point Taken Finishing Move
– “Scan The Vista” Calling Card
– Cold Depths Emblem
– “Clean Cut” Spray

Those who purchase the bundle can of course also use the content in Call of Duty: Warzone
What’s next for Call of Duty?
Whether the release of the new weapon and operator means the end of content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remains to be seen. After all, Infinity Ward and Raven Software have surprised in the past with short-term releases.
The next Call of Duty is also on the way, although not yet officially announced. Rumour has it that this time it will go back to the World War II scenario under the name Call of Duty: Vanguard.
