The big Season 1 Reloaded update for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has been announced along with all the content. Here you can find out all about the new map, new events and more

The gun is out of the bag: We finally know when and how Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone 2024 will continue. As in every season, a big midseason event awaits you in the current Season 1: Season 1 Reloaded

Developer Sledgehammer Games has just released all the information about this event, so we’re collecting all the news about new weapons, maps and content for you so that you have everything handy at a glance.

Oh, and if you were already sick of the skins from The Boys in MW2, then rejoice: There’ll be more of them in January.

When does Season 1 Reloaded start in MW3?

Season 1 Reloaded already has an official start date: On January 17, 2024, it will start at 6 pm time simultaneously on PC, PS5 and Xbox.

There will probably be a patch preload with all the new content in advance so that you can start playing just in time for the end of the day. We will of course keep you up to date on this as soon as it becomes concrete

Which weapons are new?

There are two brand new weapons for both regular multiplayer and Warzone:

  • HRM-9: With its high rate of fire, this SMG is particularly suitable for short-range battles.
  • TAQ Evolvere: A new LMG from the TAQ platform.

You unlock the new SMG via Armory Unlocks, the TAQ via a Weekly Challenge.

What’s changing in regular multiplayer?

There are various new features in MW3’s regular PvP, here’s a summary:

  • New Map: In Rio you fight for control of a shopping center, classic 6v6.
  • New mode Team Gunfight: A modified form of the classic Gunfight. You spawn alongside five other teammates with random loadouts and fight the opposing team.
  • New mode Headquarters: The mode from MW2 returns. You capture a changing headquarters and then fiercely defend it until all your team’s spawns are used up.
  • New mode Infected: Every defeated enemy goes to the opposing team. Whoever lasts the longest wins.
  • New event mode The Boys: In this time-exclusive variant of Kill Confirmed, dead enemies drop superpowers such as heat vision. As usual, there are also a number of challenges related to the mode.

Of course, new skin bundles will also be added to the store as part of the event, such as A-Train and Firecracker from The Boys.

What’s changing in Warzone?

Some big changes are coming to the Battle Royale. For example, you no longer have to be the last team standing to successfully survive Warzone. Let’s go through the most important points:

  • New Weapon Cases: As in MW2’s DMZ mode, you can now capture a top-secret weapon case in Warzone. As soon as you bag it, your position will be communicated to all teams in the game, so you should gain land as quickly as possible. Those who successfully exfiltrate the weapon crate will receive rewards.
  • New Exfiltration: You no longer have to be the last team standing to win in Warzone. New are additional exfiltration points (Covert Exfil) where you can leave the match. However, this comes at a high price.
  • New Gulag Event: There is a new night vision event. The name says it all: You fight in the gulag in the dark with night vision goggles.

You can also crack new challenges in Warzone via the new Champion’s Quest. These are pretty tough, for example you have to win 30 Warzone matches within a season. A piece of cake for us, of course, but not everyone shoots as well as we do (parts of this sentence could be a lie)

What’s new in zombie mode?

Zombie mode has – unsurprisingly – received the fewest changes in Season 1 Reloaded. The only new thing is a new warlord you can fight: Dokkaebi, the South Korean Operator, who you can also play in regular multiplayer. And no, she has nothing to do with Dokkaebi from Rainbow Six: Siege. Says Activision

New Ranked Mode!

And last but not least, with Season 1 Reloaded, Ranked Mode also finds its way into the multiplayer of Modern Warfare 3. Nothing has changed in the way it works compared to MW2.

(As in E Sport: The ranked mode is based on the official CDL rules.)

You play in the Hardpoint, Search & Destroy and Control modes with four players against another team. Victories give you better ranks and rewards, defeats … nothing.

So much for the most important new features of Season 1 Reloaded. As mentioned, the season will start on January 17, 2024, and we will of course keep you up to date if there are any server problems or last-minute changes.

We will also let you know as soon as a patch preload starts so that you can get your lines up to operating temperature in good time. After all, it’s winter
