The armor plates in Call of Duty: Vanguard are too strong, according to numerous beta tester voices. Developer Sledgehammer Games is challenged.
After the first beta weekend of Call of Duty: Vanguard, the community is seething. With only one beta period remaining, the release of the new shooter title is indeed getting closer and closer and arouses anticipation. But the mood of the fans is divided by the field upgrade “Armor Plates”.
Field upgrades are still a relatively new addition to the Call of Duty franchise, added in Modern Warfare. The Armor Plates field upgrade was largely despised by beta players in CoD: Vanguard. The Field Upgrade was also included in an earlier version of Black Ops, but has taken on a new annoying form in Vanguard.
Finally unlocked armor plates tonight, those are insanely busted. Gonna be game breaking in SnD most likely. @SHGames #Vanguard – I'd suggest making it a slow charge time, it being fast means you'd have em every round of SnD and it doubles or triples your health.

The main critics of Armor Plates have stated that they give unfair advantages in gunfights and interfere with players’ abilities. As the name suggests, Armor Plates provide players with extra health and stamina in battles. This has led to a general debate about whether or not armor should even belong in a Call of Duty game.
Despite the massive unpopularity of the Field upgrade, there are still some supporters who want to keep it. Although there is even support for the claim that the Field Upgrade requires a certain amount of tweaking. Longer recharges, less armour and other suggestions have been raised by the community to mitigate the shielding effect.
Call of Duty: Vanguard still has a beta weekend ahead of it. So there is still plenty of time for the developers to take in feedback from the community and adjust the game accordingly. Whether this means that the Field Upgrade will be completely removed or adapted to the game is completely open.
