The latest rumours about Call of Duty Vanguard revolve around new weapons and the return of a well-known game mode.
Insider “MW2 OG”, known for his exclusive information within the Call of Duty scene, revealed in a tweet on Saturday what he has seen so far of the upcoming spin-off of the shooter series called “Vanguard”.
Scenario in World War II?
MW2 OG says he has already seen video footage of the game, which is supposedly planned for late summer. He has seen “definitely uniformed soldiers from the Second World War”, which once again supports the presumed setting of the game.
The insider discovered a Karabiner 98, a Winchester shotgun and Molotovs. In addition, the whole thing took place on a map that looked like an African palace. The CoD expert compares the game’s HUD with that of Call of Duty: World at War, which was released in November 2008.

In another tweet on Saturday, MW2 OG then went even further, revealing that based on the footage he has seen, Headquarters mode could return with Vanguard. The king-of-the-hill game mode was a permanent fixture in all CoD parts until 2012, after which it returned in 2019’s Modern Warfare.
