In the trailer for Call of Duty: Vanguard, the Zombies co-op is introduced for the first time. Equipped with an arsenal of ordinary weapons and supernatural artefacts, a troop of soldiers stands in the way of the demonic hordes. By the way, Billie Eilish provides the fitting music in the video with “Bury a Friend”.
The trailer confirms the rumours that Vanguard continues the Dark Ether storyline from Black Ops Cold War with its co-op mode, but seems to steer in a more occult direction, with necromantic powers, demonic portals and so on. There’s even a zombie with a minigun to be seen!
In addition, several multiplayer maps appear. It is therefore reasonable to assume that the 16 regular maps will be rebuilt for the zombie mode and recycled secondarily. The development of the zombie mode is being continued by Treyarch (Cold War) and is not the responsibility of Sledgehammer, the actual creators of Vanguard.
