Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will soon enter its fifth season. Like every time, there will be new maps, weapons, operators and more to unlock.
A new Call of Duty is supposed to be released as early as November 2023. Until then, however, there is still a new season for the current title in the series, which has now been revealed. What you can expect in Season 5 of CoD Warzone and Modern Warfare 2, you can read here.

When will Season 5 be released?
Season 5 will be released on 2 August 2023. Season 5 Reloaded will probably follow in mid-September, before the new Call of Duty is supposedly released in November.

You can see the overview of all new content here, in the next paragraphs we will go into the most important new features. The announcement of Season 5 with all details can be found on the (official website).
New Maps
There will be a total of 5 new maps in Season 5. Two core maps for multiplayer will be released at launch, along with two maps for Gunfight mode. Season 5 Reloaded will then bring another core map for the multiplayer.
New Game Modes
Season 5 adds three new game modes to the shooter:
- Havoc: Similar to Team Deathmatch, but there are no killstreaks, upgrades or perks. Instead, you get different modifiers each round that change the game: for example, you can jump much higher or both teams can only use crossbows and Molotov cocktails.
- Large Capture The Flag: The familiar mode with larger maps.
- Armored Royale: In this Battle Royale mode for Warzone, each squad controls their own heavily armoured MRAP. Will not be released until sometime during Season 5.
- Fort Resurgence: The Resurgence mode for Warzone, but only in the area around Al Bagra Fortress in Al Mazrah. Also appears during Season 5.
New variations for the Gunfight mode will also be released at the start of the season and later on.
New Weapons
A total of six new weapons are coming to the game with Season 5. Two of them will be available in Battlepass at launch, four more with Season 5 Reloaded. Three of them are already known:
A new submachine gun, a sidearm, and a melee weapon will be revealed during the course of the season.
New Vehicles
Two new vehicles are coming to Warzone with Season 5:
- MRAP: A heavily armoured and armed, but rather slow transport vehicle.
- Dirt Bike: A fast motorbike with two seats.
New Operator
You can unlock five new operators at the start of Season 5, with one more to come later:
To celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop, there are also new operator bundles featuring some real celebrities, namely Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dog and 21 Savage.
