The next season of Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War is coming up. We gather all the info on release and content.
The end of Season 4 in Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War is getting closer and closer. So what about Season 5? Official information is still scarce, but we already know a few things about the upcoming innovations.
The players’ greatest hope: Warzone’s cheater problem has always been a big issue – but the current state is dire. Increasingly brazen offers to cheat, hacking actions and a lack of anti-cheat ensure that cheaters are in many lobbies. Whether this will change in Season 5 remains to be seen. But you’d better not get your hopes up too much.
This is what we know about Season 5 in Warzone & Cold War
When does Season 5 start?
The current Season 4 ends on 10 August 2021 German time. So far, the next season reliably followed the previous one, so the downloads for Season 5 should start on 11 August 2021 at the latest. The well-known CoD-Infoportal CharlieIntel assumes that the official start will be on 12 August.
The individual seasons last around two months – pretty sure that will be the case this time as well. So Season 5 will probably accompany you into October.
What’s in Season 5?
New weapons: Typically, at least two new weapons are released with each Season, although some of these will not be unlocked until Mid-Season. In all likelihood, Season 5 will bring new weapons, but it is not yet officially known which ones.
However, a cover artwork has apparently already been leaked showing Akimbo Tec-9 submachine guns. This of course suggests that these weapons will make their debut in Season 5.
Akimbo Tec-9s are coming to #Warzone in Season 5 🥵
Too bad it’s currently overran with hackers so nobody cares.

Neither a Sniper nor a Shotgun appeared in Season 4, so one (or both) of these categories could be expanded in Season 5. However, this is only speculation at this stage.
New Operator: If the artwork really shows the leaked cover of Season 5, then we already know a new operator of Season 5, namely the Japanese warrior Kitsune. According to the well-known dataminer Nanikos, the entire season will have a Japan theme. But take this information with a grain of salt, even if his statements sound credible for the time being.
What about the new Battle Pass?
Guaranteed there will also be a new Battle Pass in Season 5, which will probably come in a free and a premium variant as usual. The complete edition contains more cosmetics and costs 10 Euros.
What else happens in Season 5?
Presumably it is the last season before the launch of CoD: Vanguard, as it is still scheduled for release in 2021. The new Call of Duty will once again be unveiled in Warzone, like its predecessor Black Ops: Cold War. So it stands to reason that events in Season 5 will lead up to the reveal.
