“Easiest Battle Royale” – CoD pro claims you don’t need skill for Warzone 2

During one of his streams on Twitch, CoD pro Aydan claimed Warzone is by far the easiest among Battle Royale games.

Is Warzone the easiest Battle Royale game or is this once again just a CoD pro complaining about being accidentally knocked out during a match and being miffed about it?

Lightest Battle Royale?

Warzone pro Aydan “Aydan” Conrad has claimed during a stream that Warzone is by far the easiest of the Battle Royale shooters currently being played when it comes to skill.

In his eyes, Apex Legends is the more challenging BR shooter and is much harder to master than Warzone due to the different skills of the operators.

This is not the first time that Aydan has taken a shot at Activision’s shooter.

I would always say that Warzone is the game where you need the least skill. […] Apex is definitely more challenging with all its different skills, it’s not even a close race. Warzone is definitely the easiest Battle Royale. However, I’ve also never played PUBG

Back in November, the streamer criticised the TTK, which in his opinion was far too short and made it impossible to act tactically and outplay opponents. The extremely fast TTK ensures that there is hardly any skill gap between the players, making it too easy for bad players to eliminate good ones.

By the way, part of the community sees things similarly to Aydan when it comes to TTK. Discussions flare up again and again on social media about whether the dying in Warzone 2 doesn’t happen a bit too quickly.

Is Apex Legends really harder?

Even though Aydan can undoubtedly be considered a professional due to his years of experience and various tournament victories in Warzone, it’s hard to say across the board whether Apex Legends or Warzone is the more challenging BR shooter.

The fact is, however, that Call of Duty has already been accused for decades of being too attentive to casual players and that the developers do everything they can to compensate for the skill differences of the individual users.

Not for nothing is the hated Skill Based Matchmaking (SBMM) discussed again and again within the community.

Same and yet different

It’s hard to compare the two games one-to-one because even though they are both Battle Royale shooters, they have completely different gameplay elements.

While Apex Legends, for example, introduced a whole new level of gameplay to Battle Royale with various Operator abilities both Warzone Caldera and Warzone 2.0 rely on Perks. These are much more passive compared to Operator abilities, and in some cases have very little impact on the gameplay.

On the other hand, the almost infinite possibilities to configure weapons in a wide variety of ways have always given Warzone more depth than many other BR games have.

Likely, as is so often the case, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. And if truth be told, more people in the Warzone community ultimately benefit from a non-existent skill gap than the opposite.
