During the CDL Championship Weekend 2022, the first day seems not to have gone so smoothly. There were server problems and outages.

The Call of Duty League (CDL) Championship Weekend 2022 kicked off on Thursday. A total prize purse of US$2.5 million will be handed out in Los Angeles. During the match between Seattle Surge and London Royal Ravens, however, server problems occurred in the meantime.

Actually, the match between the two teams was supposed to be the opening match for the CDL Championship on the first day. But already after the first match there were server failures. This does not seem to have been an isolated incident. Already during the CDL Season 2022 there were problems with the server. In the end, Seattle Surge emerged victorious with a score of 3:2.

However, some Call of Duty titles seem to have had to struggle with server problems. According to CDL Intel on Twitter, the games Black Ops 3, Black Ops 4, Vanguard and Warzone already suffered some outages. In the tournament, this led to delays that were bridged with promo videos and other recorded clips. Still, this seems to be happening in other games as well, and not just Call of Duty games.

Connection interruptions and crashes of this kind are also known by the responsible persons of Electronic Arts. In FIFA 21 there were also regular server problems and total breakdowns last year. Not only did the community suffer from this, but it also caused a delay in the important FIFAe Club World Cup. Due to the server problems, some games even had to be made up, which caused damage to EA’s image. This was not the case with the CDL Championship Weekend.

On Sunday, the final of the most important CoD tournament of the year will take place, where Infinity Ward has new impressions for Modern Warfare 2 ready.
