Call of Duty's new anti-cheat RICOCHET

Warzone is known for having plenty of cheaters in the game. To combat this, Activision is introducing a new anti-cheat for CoD: RICOCHET.

Activision is aware that the many cheaters in Warzone take the fun out of the game for the players. With the new RICOCHET Anti-Cheat, this should be brought back.

This is the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat

In their Call of Duty blogthe new anti-cheat system was announced. There it is described that the system will affect the games Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard. Together, the team had developed this solution to combat cheaters.

“The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat Initiative is a multi-faceted approach to combating cheats and cheaters, using new server-side tools that generate analytics to detect cheating. It also uses enhanced investigative processes to eliminate cheaters, updates to increase account security and more. RICOCHET Anti-Cheat’s backend anti-cheat security features will roll out with Call of Duty: Vanguard and later this year with the Pacific update for Call of Duty: Warzone,” the report states.

However, in addition to the server improvements through RICOCHET, a new PC kernel-level driver is also expected to be introduced. This is also intended to help against cheaters, but also to promote general server security. The driver will also be released with the Pacific update for Call of Duty: Warzone and will then be introduced in Call of Duty: Vanguard afterwards.

The RICOCHET anti-cheat system is designed to protect against cheaters, but Activision is still calling for people to report cheaters and problems in the game. This helps an algorithm to detect further cheaters.
