It’s officially confirmed: Infinity War is leading the development of the new CoD game. The rumours about Modern Warfare 2 are intensifying.
In a quarterly report released Thursday, Activision Blizzard reveals some new information about upcoming Call of Duty games. Infinity Ward will take control of development from the new CoD title in 2022.
The report not only reveals that Infinity Ward will be in charge for CoD 2022, but also for the free-to-play titles. This means the studio could also be responsible for the development of Call of Duty: Warzone 2. “Development of this year’s premium and Warzone experience will be led by Activision’s renowned studio Infinity Ward,” the announcement reveals.
Furthermore, the development studio is said to be working on arguably the most ambitious plan in the franchise’s history, which is said to possess the latest innovations in the industry and an engaging setting for the franchise. Still, not all the news in the report is positive, as it presents lower numbers for Vanguard compared to last year.
