Modern Warfare 3 launched Season 1 Reloaded yesterday. But to the chagrin of fans, the release was anything but smooth
The release of Season 1 Reloaded could not have gone much worse for many players: The ranked mode announced for Modern Warfare 3 has been delayed and in Warzone the release update is causing serious bugs. Read here what exactly happened and what the current situation looks like.
Where is the Ranked Mode?
Even before the release of Season 1 Reloaded, the developers had announced that Ranked Mode would not be available at the same time as all the other new features. However, it was initially assumed that there would only be a delay of a few hours
Yesterday evening, however, the developers announced via (Twitter) (meanwhile X) that the release of the new mode would be further delayed. The reason for this is a recently discovered, critical bug that needs to be fixed first. A new release date was not given, the ranked mode should appear as soon as possible
Bug hell in Warzone
In Battle Royale, however, the update causes numerous serious bugs, some of which make Warzone completely unplayable. For example, a problem was shared several times in which performance drops sharply and image errors occur:
Today’s update has broken Warzone completely.

The developers are apparently already working hard to fix the bugs that have occurred. A complete overview of the confirmed bugs can be found on the (official Trello board). Four bugs have already been fixed:
- You will no longer enter a bugged state when interacting with a loadout crate.
- You will no longer get stuck with the message
Fetching Online Profile
when trying to access the game menu. - If you remove a modification in Gunsmith, you will no longer end up in the menu.
- The modifications for the HRM-9 submachine gun are now unlocked as intended.
Meanwhile the quest Champion’s Quest
is still disabled, as it has a negative impact on game performance due to some bugs. By completing the quest, it is possible to detonate a nuclear bomb in Warzone and win the game
The worst update ever
The mood in the community is pretty bad in view of the botched start of Season 1 Reloaded. Many players (are baffled) that they can’t even get into the game hours after a major update. Others are talking about the (worst update) ever released for the game.
Whether and how the problematic release of Season 1 Reloaded will have a lasting effect on Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone remains to be seen. Many fans are very disappointed at the moment, but if the remaining bugs and problems are fixed during the course of the day, this may calm things down a little. We’ll keep you up to date on developments.
