The issue of cheating in Call of Duty: Warzone will hopefully soon come to an end. The new anti-cheat system Ricochet is supposed to solve the problems.
Activision announced the first details of the new anti-cheat system on Wednesday. The RICOCHET programme is intended to provide a remedy against cheating attempts, first in the new CoD: Vanguard and then later in Warzone. The system will be designed more precisely to better monitor the servers and stats. However, this is also what is needed to offer a better future for Battle Royale.
Since cheating is a major reason why players:inside put the game aside, the new anti-cheat software is meant to counteract the declining player numbers. Well-known content creators like Nicholas “Nickmercs” Kolcheff point out that a game like Warzone only has a future with a functioning anti-cheat programme. Even the introduction of a ranked mode can only work if programmes like RICOCHET can guarantee fair play.
The new driver should save it
Activision themselves outline various aspects of RICOCHET in the official press release to show why the programme is so important. The full anti-cheat system works with a core-level driver that examines software and applications that attempt to manipulate the CoD game.
Youtube channels like “TheXclusiveAce” report on how beneficial the statistics detection of the new anti-cheat system is. Even among supposedly normal players, there are extremely many cheaters who can show unrealistically high K/D differences. These values are expected to be recognised by the system and punished with a ban.
The use of the driver will be a basic requirement for playing Warzone after full integration. So far, the software is only designed to be played on PC and thus only secures consoles in cross-play. With the Pacific update, the new programme is already on the market for Warzone and in the course of the year Ricochet is also to be integrated piece by piece into the new Vanguard part.
