Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 2!

What many suspected has now been officially confirmed: The new Call of Duty game will be called Modern Warfare 2!

Rumours and whispers have finally come to an end since yesterday, 28 April. A short teaser of the new CoD title was unveiled via Call of Duty’s official Twitter account, which also showed the game’s logo: Modern Warfare 2 is coming!

Leaks were correct

The countless leaks and hints about the new CoD title were correct and so we can look forward to the hopefully quick release of Modern Warfare 2. Reliable CoD leakers like Tom Henderson, RalphsValve or TheGhostOfHope had already published the first hints about Modern Warfare 2 via their Twitter accounts months ago and were right on the money.

Nothing less than a new era is to be ushered in by Modern Warfare 2 in Call of Duty. Big words from Infinity Ward and after the Vanguard debacle, the expectations for the new CoD title are already high in the community. Apart from that, there was not much information. What we know for sure so far is that the development of Modern Warfare 2 will be taken over by Infinity Ward, it will be based on the story of Modern Warfare (2019) and there will be a story campaign in addition to the multiplayer.

Release with Warzone 2?

There is no official statement as to whether Warzone 2 will be released at the same time as Modern Warfare 2. However, it should only be a matter of time before the second part of the popular Battle Royale shooter is confirmed by the developers. Currently, a full unveiling of Modern Warfare 2 is expected on 30 May. Here there could also be first images of the game and a possible confirmation of Warzone 2.

Just a few days ago, Activision showed selected NFL draft players the new CoD in Las Vegas. New York Jets player Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner subsequently posted an Instagram story in which he expressed his excitement about the new game and confirmed that Warzone 2 will be released with Modern Warfare 2.
