Rebirth Island gets rework in Warzone – Everything we know about it so far

What many have suspected since early February now seems more and more likely. A rework for Rebirth Island is said to be coming.

Although there is no official statement or even a date yet, we have enough clues to guess what is coming. Everything points to Rebirth Island getting a rework in Warzone.

Have you missed it too?

The first hint of a rework was not very obvious and many probably overlooked it in the preview of the update due to the flood of new features in Season 2. A small phrase, but one that suggests big things:

As Caldera’s secrets come to light, something lurks in the shadows of Rebirth Island. Expect significant changes to Prison Island with the mid-season update …

Without having to speculate too much, we can probably conclude that Rebirth Island is getting a rework after two years. The map was introduced on 16 December 2020 as part of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 and has enjoyed great popularity again at least since the reintroduction of Iron Trials mode.

Confident Enemy

The recently reintroduced Iron Trials mode takes place on Rebirth Island this time around, and the developers gave another hint for the future of the small prison island in the patch notes.

Knowing that Iron Trials mode will only be in the game until March 17, we can assume that the revamped Rebirth Island map will see the light of day sometime after that. As to who the developers mean by familiar enemy, we can only speculate so far. Perhaps King Kong will soon be swinging over the map, as he lives on Alcatraz in the Netflix animation series Kong: King of the Apes, which looks very similar to Rebirth Island, and rumours about Warzone and King Kong have been floating around for some time.

Streamer and Call of Duty content creator eColiEspresso has also summed up all the clues once again in his latest video.
