The first raid is here and it presents you with a number puzzle. We explain how you can solve the codes.

Season 1 Reloaded of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is here and with it the first raid mission “Atomgrad”. You will be transported to a flooded nuclear bunker from the Soviet era. Together with two friends, you not only have to survive against AI opponents, but also solve code puzzles.

We explain how the puzzle works in this guide. We’ll also give you a few tips on how you can best survive round 2 of the code puzzle.

How to solve the raid code

The bad news first: The number codes are randomly generatedat each run, which means you have to solve the puzzle yourself. The good news is that it’s not that hard

The code puzzle consists of three stations, each of which must be occupied by one of the players:

  • Player 1 keeps an eye on the monitor with the letter sequence and later enters the code
  • Players 2 and 3 place themselves at the two monitoring stations and look for the camera, each of which shows three letters and their corresponding numbers
  • Note: Each player can only enter the code once This means you must swap positions after each code.

Don’t be put off by the Cyrillic letters! The puzzle itself is simple: You have to find out a three-digit code with the help of the clues. Player 1 reads (or describes) the letters shown to him from left to right and the other two players communicate the matching numbers when that letter appears on their clues. Player 1 then enters the code from left to right.

From the second code you will now see more than three letters on the monitor  However, the code remains three digits long. Not every letter from the monitor is shown on the clues, so you have to find out which three belong to the code – again, always from left to right

Example of how to solve the code

We illustrate the whole thing again with a concrete example. This time it is about the second code and player 1 is shown four letters (U, B, R and I) on the monitor. Three of them are part of the code, the last letter is just meant to distract.

Players 2 and 3 each see three letters on their monitors:

  • Camera 1: U, D and I
  • Camera 2: E, R and S

U, R and I appear in the clues, but the letter B does not. Thus U, R, I (always from left to right) is the key you are looking for and the corresponding numbers form the code 218.

Tips for code round 2

The puzzle occurs a second time towards the end of the raid. This time, however, the difficulty is that you have a 30-second timer for each code, plus you have to defend against enemy waves

We’ll give you a few more tips on how to pass Round 2:

  • Take your time: The timer applies to every code and you can let it run out and take care of the enemies first. Once you have solved a code, it is safe and will not be reset after the timer expires.
  • It’s best to agree on transcriptions for the letters in the first round (if you can’t read Cyrillic) so that you don’t lose any time and can quickly work through the sequence of letters. For example, the Russian letter “yu” looks like a fallen tree, “sh” like a pitchfork, “zhe” like an asterisk, and so on.
  • Do you have a particularly good player among you? Let him enter the code first. The waves of enemies at the two clue points get harder from code to code.
  • Even if you go down, you can keep an eye on the clues and pass on the number codes to your teammate. Therefore, it is best to die somewhere with a clear view of the wall.
