The winner’s trophy of the CDL 2022 Major 4 causes offence at Activision because of its appearance. Therefore, it is not allowed to be shown at the mega event.

The Major 4 of the Call of Duty League 2022  will take place from Thursday in New York. The mega-event is being hosted by the New York Subliners, who have designed a special trophy for the winner. After the presentation the day before, however, Activision banned the award because the look was too cruel.

During the CDL 2022 Season, no trophies were provided for the Majors, allowing the hosts of the four Majors to create one themselves. Major 1 did not have a trophy yet and the other two mega events had a shield and crown to win. The New York Subliners had come up with a special trophy for CDL 2022 Major 4, modelled on the Statue of Liberty.

However, the statue’s head is split down the middle to reveal a skull. Activision doesn’t seem to like this design very much. The creative director of New York Subliners Matt Lucero confirms that the publisher rejected the trophy because it would be too cruel. However, the winning team still gets to take home the trophy in the end.

However, it may not be shown during the tournament. The CDL 2022 Major 4 runs from 14 to 17 July at the Kings Theatre in New York. A total of twelve teams will compete there, including Seattle Surge, who emerged victorious at Major 3 in Toronto. There, the team played Atlanta FaZe in the final and won 5:3.
