While King Kong and Godzilla make Warzone unsafe, the community and streamers are divided on whether the event is good or bad.

Normally, streamers do a good job of reflecting the mood of the Warzone community, but this time, it’s different. While fans celebrate the current event, many streamers are disappointed with Operation Monarch.

What the Warzone community is saying

Since the release of Operation Monarch, the posts about the King Kong and Godzilla event have been piling up on Reddit and the community seems to largely agree: the event has it all. Even if there is criticism that King Kong and Godzilla do not fight or interact with each other, as originally suggested by the developers, most players seem to be satisfied. It almost seems suspicious that the Warzone community reacts positively to an event and doesn’t pick it apart on Twitter and Reddit on the first day. User Dull-Caterpillar3153, for example, writes: “I like Operation Monarch. Is there something wrong with me?”.

Many players praise the chaos and fast pace of play on Caldera, which has been increased by the special abilities of the two Titans. Camping in a certain area for a long time is difficult when you constantly have to fear getting hit on the head by a 100-ton boulder or being vaporised by Godzilla’s atomic breath. It seems as if Raven Software has hit the mark this time and positively surprised the community. The situation is different for some streamers, who are anything but enthusiastic.

This is what the streamers say

The two streamers Dr. Disrespect and Nickmercs don’t leave a good hair on Operation Monarch. Only hours after release, both showed their disappointment on Twitter. Dr. Disrespect gives the current Warzone event a 2.2/10 in his tweet and asks sarcastically: “Am I only 9 years old?”. His followers join in the comments and even they seem to find the event too childish.

FaZe clan member Nickmercs is also anything but enthusiastic. He calls the event “terrible” and draws comparisons to similar events in Fortnite, which he says went better. Like a large part of the community, he also criticises the fact that King Kong and Godzilla do not fight or interact with each other. A criticism that pops up in almost every post on Reddit and Twitter.

Obviously, the Warzone developers have raised false hopes in the community. In fairness, however, it must be said that the fight between King Kong and Godzilla was never officially confirmed by the developers before the release of Operation Monarch. Even the previously released footage did not suggest a fight between the two titans. Here, the wish was probably the father of the thought.
