With the next update already on the horizon, we venture a glimpse of what could be in store for us in Warzone.

A good month has passed since Season 2 of Warzone Pacific was released and the next big update could be just around the corner. We look into our crystal ball and take a look at the possible changes.

When is the update coming?

Although we don’t have an official release date for Warzone’s next major update yet, many are assuming March 22 for the release. Timing-wise, this day would fit because mid-season updates, as the name suggests, usually come out in the middle of the season. Since the Battle Pass has a duration of 72 days and was released on 14 February together with the Season 2 update, 22 March would be in the middle of this period. So we can expect an official announcement from the developers in the next few days.

What’s in it?

Through the roadmap, hidden developer hints and bugs, we already have a rough idea of what to expect on March 22.

Rebirth Island

One of the biggest changes probably concerns Rebirth Island. As the developers already announced in the roadmap, the map will be overhauled. The developers spoke of no less than “significant changes to Prison Island” in their Season 2 patch notes from 14 February. Some therefore suspect a complete rework of the map based on Alcatraz.

Final killcam and other improvements

As with any major update, we can expect this one to change and improve minor details of the game. One of these could be the introduction of the Final Killcam, which has almost legendary status in Call of Duty titles. A recently discovered bug had given the community hope. In addition, changes have been leaked so far:

  • Players will be able to take off their gas mask
  • Additional armour plates can be lifted from armour bags
  • Players can switch between lying and crouching while on the ground

Ice axe and Armaguerra 43

As already announced in the roadmap, two new weapons are to be added to the game during the Season. The ice pick, which can be used as a melee and throwing weapon, and the Armaguerra 43. The latter has a very high fire rate and should be used at short to medium range.
