The FNCS Global Championship is about to kick off right at the beginning of February and the winning duo will go home with $2 million each.

The Fortnite Champion Series Global Championship of 2023 will start in early February, and the competitive scene is getting more than excited. Fortnite started out as a pretty casual game, but nowadays, it’s become one of the biggest names in the esports category. This battle royale appeared out of the blue and completely took the world by storm.

Streamers all over the world still play this game daily and keep improving their skills to become the best out there. Fortnite has some of the most popular esports leagues like the World Cup, and it’s in these competitions that players can prove themselves and show off their gaming capacities. The next big event is the Fortnite Champion Series Global Championship, and it’s nearly going to take an entire year to see who the winners are going to be.

Epic Games has finally announced the date for the start of the competition and posted a detailed roadmap of the event from the very beginning until the grand finals. The competition is divided into four Majors and then the in-person LAN tournament. It starts February 2, and although the end date of the tournament hasn’t been announced yet, it’s been confirmed that the finals will happen during the fourth quarter of 2023. Throughout the FNCS Global Championship, a total of $10 million will be awarded to the top-performing teams in each Major, and the duo that wins the number one spot will share a hefty amount of $4 million. This is some serious money as far as free competitive gaming goes.

The Fortnite competitive community is now speculating whether or not the event will be played in the standard Battle Royale mode or Zero Build mode which was added to Fortnite back in March; this game mode was an option that many players had been asking for years. It was controversial at first since Fortnite’s gimmick was and still is the building mechanic. But some gamers simply loved the game and didn’t enjoy building, especially when going up against others who had already mastered it to a whole other level.

During the qualifying stages, Duos will be evaluated based on their performance during Elite Divisional Cups, and this is how they will be considered eligible or ineligible to move on to Major 1. Then, those who qualify will move on to the Major 1 Grand Finals and eventually the Fortnite Champion Series Global Championship Upper Bracket phase to get a chance to play in the FNCS Grand Finals. Duos that underperform during the Upper Brackets phase will have to face new opponents from the Last Chance Major during the Lower Brackets phase. It’s surely going to be an exciting tournament, and it’ll be a hoot to see which Fortnite streamers make it to the Grand Finals.

Fortnite is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
