Anubis is a joke! Unfinished map in the active CS:GO pool

To the disappointment of many CS:GO players, Anubis has been drafted into the competitive pool in place of more popular inactive maps. But this one doesn’t seem to be fully developed yet!

CS:GO players don’t have it easy this year either. After a disappointing major announcement at the IEM Rio Major 2022, which was not about the long-awaited switch to the Source 2 engine, but about another Major in Brazil, there was also a controversial update on 18.11.2022, which brought a new map into the competitive pool: Anubis. But what was Valve thinking with this map?

Anubis desperately needs an update!

Although a new map always brings a breath of fresh air, especially in esports, there are still a few flaws that absolutely need to be removed on Anubis.

As you can see in the video, the map is simply not ready for the competitive pool in some places. For example, at many corners you can find hitboxes that prevent you from throwing a grenade specifically in one direction or highlights where you can make your weapon or grenades disappear as if by magic.

Therefore, the community is faced with these two questions.

Why is Dust2 out?

Anubis replaced the oldest map in the active pool: Dust2. The reason for this could be that Dust2 only had small changes since Counter-Strike: Source, such as the double-doors on the B-spot and the open peek in the upper middle, in addition to some texture updates.

Dust2 is rumoured to be getting edits to movement, such as the Xbox jump in the middle, textures and some bugs.

Why isn’t Cobblestone or Tuscan coming?

A question that unfortunately cannot be answered. Especially former CS 1.6 players were looking forward to the map de_Tuscan after years of rumours and the first official signs.

Also, a comeback of the map de_cobblestone would have caused real feelings of happiness in the community. But why these continue to remain inactive, unfortunately only our Lord Gaben knows.

This is how the pros react to the update:

Even in the pro scene, the update is perceived more as a joke, as the Twitter accounts of teams NaVi and Vitality reveal:

Valve had better revise Anubis as soon as possible.
