BIG wins first match at IEM Dallas 2022 – All info on the next big tournament in CS:GO

The IEM Dallas 2022 is already in full swing and the German team BIG could already get the first victory in the group stage.

The IEM Dallas 2022 started into the group phase on Monday. In Group B, the German organisation BIG was able to claim a victory. MOUZ, on the other hand, already suffered a first defeat in Group A.

Both Movistar Riders and BIG moved up into the competition late last week. Natus Vincere and also Entropiq could not participate in the IEM Dallas in Texas due to visa problems. The German team BIG had a solid start in the tournament and won the first match against the Ninjas in Pyjamas with 16:9.

On Wednesday, they will move on to the next round of the group stage. There, BIG will meet MIBR, who won their first match against Complexity. If the German team emerges victorious from Wednesday’s game, BIG will face either FURIA Esports or Cloud9. In total, only six teams will advance to the playoffs.

MOUZ, on the other hand, have already had to prove themselves against the Movistar Riders after their opening loss to ENCE in the Lower Bracket. The mice won the best-of-three 2-0 and will next face Team Vitality, who lost to newly crowned major champions FaZe Clan. Wednesday will show whether one of the German organisations will advance to the play-offs and thus be one step closer to the coveted trophy.

The next big tournament in CS:GO is just around the corner – the Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2022, where 16 teams will compete against each other for the coveted trophy as well as massive prize money.

The IEM Dallas 2022 will start on 30 May and end in the Grand Final on 5 June. The German organisations BIG and MOUZ will also be taking part in the tournament as they battle it out for the title. ProSieben FUN will broadcast the Grand Final of the IEM Dallas 2022 on 5 June at 5:30 p.m.

The venue of IEM Dallas 2022

The event will take place in the metropolis of Dallas in the US state of Texas. In the ninth-largest city in the United States, the teams will play the tournament as part of DreamHack Dallas at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The audience and local fans will be able to watch and cheer on the CS:GO pros live as they battle for the title.

In addition to the battle for the IEM crown, the DreamHack Festival offers numerous other attractions and thus provides plenty of variety. Among other things, there will be a cosplay contest, music performances and other gaming areas in addition to Esport.

Five ESL partner teams are taking part in the tournament. In addition, MOUZ secured a spot for IEM Dallas in the European qualifiers. The German team BIG moved up into the competition after NAVI and Entropiq cancelled their participation due to visa problems. Copenhagen Flames also turned down an invitation.

The 16 teams can look forward to a massive prize money at the major. A total of 250,000 US dollars will be distributed at the IEM Dallas 2022. The winner of the Grand Final can look forward to prize money of 100,000 US dollars.

How the Major Works

The group phase of the tournament begins on 30 May. The opening duels will be contested by MOUZ and ENCE as well as G2 Esports and the Movistar Riders. All opening matches will be played as Best-Of-One. The remaining matches will then be played as a best-of-three. A total of six teams will advance to the playoffs. The quarter and semifinals will also be played as a best-of-three. The winner of the IEM Dallas 2022 will be laid out on 5 June in a best-of-five.
