For the release of Counter-Strike 2, Valve is giving away two small gifts to everyone who has already played Global Offensive. This is how you get them.
Valve has not really kept its promise, because actually should Counter-Strike 2 already be released in the summer of 2023, which is now already over. But let’s forget it, because now the shooter is finally here. And many players even get a small reward for playing – we show you how.
Reward for Counter-Strike veterans
The reward caught the eye of a Counter-Strike fan on Reddit. It is a music kit and Global Offensive badges So the reward isn’t particularly big or of practical use, but you don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

How do I get it? As the post suggests, you must have played Counter-Strike: Global Offensive before to get the reward. But as you can read in the (official patch notes) there is another requirement: you must have played CS:GO at least once at least one week before the release of CS2.
The two rewards should automatically end up in your inventory, you don’t have to do anything else for them. However, some players report not receiving the items even though they meet the requirements. This may be a bug that is still being fixed.
Counter-Strike 2 starts strong
Meanwhile, the developers can be happy about extraordinarily high player numbers for the release: (Over 1.2 million) Fans are currently active, which makes the shooter currently the most played title on Steam.
The record of over 1.8 million players, which Global Offensive only set up in May 2023, can’t be broken by the successor yet – but what isn’t, can still become. Of course, we’ll keep you up to date on everything that’s important for the release!
Well, have you already downloaded Counter-Strike 2 and jumped into the fray on the new editions of the classic maps? Or are you just getting started with the new shooter tonight? Are you happy that Counter-Strike has finally been completely renewed, or do you already miss Global Offensive? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
