The next generation of the popular multiplayer shooter is out and immediately fans around the world are gambling like crazy.
Counter-Strike 2 has been released! This fact alone is enough for an announcement, because from now on all shooter fans can finally gamble the latest part of the worldwide popular multiplayer phenomenon. But: We also have numbers and first user opinions ready for you.
You can see that the info package is thicker than the first sentence would have you believe. Let’s take a look together at what’s going on in the gaming world on this memorable day. Oh, and by the way, a patch is already available – you can find the changelog on page 2 of this article!

Already a real hit on Steam
Counter-Strike 2 is doing well with fans. And by good
we mean extremely good. And extremely good
is to be understood as phenomenal. On Steam, the shooter already ranks at (rank 2 of the most played games) ever – a milestone that was admittedly already reached a few months ago during the closed beta.
But even at the time of this writing, almost 1,100,000 fans are still playing Counter-Strike 2. In the past 24 hours, i.e. in the period around the release, the game even scratched the 1.3 million mark again. You can find the impressive numbers at (SteamDB).
What do the fans say?
Many user reviews on Steam speak a positive language. The technical component of the shooter is often praised, especially the tick rate seems to be a big improvement to the retired CS:GO. The user D1gg3rX finds for example (only praising words) for the new, old shooter.
Tickrate? In simple terms: indicates how often per second the client compares its data with the server. So the higher the value, the better.
By the way, the official achievements for Counter-Strike 2 caused confusion and some amusement shortly after the launch – because many fans are simply still missing them, which means that they have played through CS2 to 100 percent…within a very short time?

A look at (some Steam reviews) however, it also quickly becomes clear that one element of Counter-Strike 2 could still be a topic of conversation in the future, namely the lootboxes, in this case called weapon boxes
. However, this topic is also present in other F2P shooters, so it is not a novelty in the genre.
Finally, a little laugh: the popular messaging service Discord also gets into the lively CS2 launch party (with a real retro snapshot)!
