The CS:GO clan G2 advertises gambling in CS with its top player m0NESY, who just turned 18, and promptly collects a shitstorm

Many had hoped that the chapter gambling providers and CS:GO clans would not be too big an issue in the future. G2 apparently has other plans in that regard and is facing an angry crowd on Twitter after the announcement of their new advertising partner.

Just 18, already exploited

German esports organization G2 gets an unsurprising social media shitstorm after posting its latest promotional partner CSGORolls on Twitter.

Besides the fact that CSGORolls is a skin-gambling provider that already has a bad reputation in the CS:GO community, many are bothered by the fact that G2 is using player m0NESY, who just turned 18, as the face of their ad campaign.

In fact, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov didn’t celebrate his 18th birthday until May 1, making him just one day over the age of majority at the time the promotional video was released, and thus only eligible to engage in gambling himself.

Osipov, who has been under contract with G2 since March 2022, was already known for his gambling proclivities during his time at NAVI Junior. While m0NESY makes sense as the promotional face for CSGORoll in this context, it doesn’t make the message sent out to the often underage CS:GO community any better.

In the comments, fans are therefore not sparing in their criticism, pillorying G2 for their advertising deal:

partnership with CSGORoll, a leader in the CS:GO skins trading market.” “CSGORoll, founded in 2016, is a community skin trading and social gaming platform that provides access to win, purchase, trade, and upgrade weapon skins.” what a funny way to not say the word gambling

Where do I read more about how old m0NESY was when this was filmed?

If you played the old gamble sites before they were shut down you know what to expect with Roll. Sad to see the mess G2 just got into “
