The online portal Dexerto reports that BLAST is to hold its first CS:GO Major in France in the spring of 2023. There are also concrete plans for the date and location of the tournament.

The Danish organisation BLAST is to hold its first CS:GO Major in France in May 2023. This was reported by the online portal Dexerto on Thursday evening with reference to anonymous sources. While the date for the event is said to be fixed, there is already a favourite for the venue.

So, according to Dexerto, the event is scheduled to take place from 8 to 21 May. BLAST has also wanted Paris as the venue “since day one”. The French city is also the most likely option so far, the report said.

If the report is true, the event would not only be the first CS:GO Major on French soil. At the same time, it would also be the premiere for BLAST as organiser of a major. The Danish company has already been organising a top-level CS:GO league since 2020 with “BLAST Premier”, in which the German organisation BIG also plays. The competition also includes several offline final events in various countries such as Great Britain, Portugal or Denmark.

A major tournament sponsored by CS:GO developer Valve with a prize pool of at least one million US dollars, however, would also be a new chapter for BLAST. So far, neither Valve nor BLAST have confirmed Dexerto’s report. An enquiry from the online portal at BLAST remained unanswered, according to the report.
